1 a. How would you justify using five (5) instances the meaning of social research? (71/2marks)
 b. Action research is a form of social research, which aims at better insight into the problem by
 learning from the experience gained in an attempt to solve the problems. The processes of
 conducting action research involve five basic steps. Assess the five (5) basic steps. (71/2mks).
C. Depending on the ways of collecting data, survey research can be classified into different
 categories. Identify the four (4) categories (4marks).
d. How can you justify using six (6) instances the meaning of report writing with respect to
 research (6marks)? 2 a. The purpose of research is to find answers to questions or solutions to problems through
 application of specific procedures. Identify ten (10) essential steps in research process
 (10marks).
 b. There are no standard rules that, either singly or collectively, will guarantee the suitability of
 a research problem. However, there are certain ground rule that should guide a researcher in
 problem identification. Advance any five (5) cases that should guide a researcher in
 identifying a research problem (5marks). 3 a. There are certain conditions that are conducive to the formulation of significant problems.
 Identify the three (3) conditions (3marks)
 b. What are the three (3) criteria required for good problem statement (3marks)?
 c. Identify nine (9) characteristics of a research problem (9marks)
4 a. Explain the concept of hypothesis (5marks).
 b. There are some criteria for good hypothesis statement. Appraise five (5) of these criteria
 (5marks).
c. The broader the experience of the researcher in relating theory to applied problem, the more
 efficient he will be in formulating appropriate hypothesis. Express using five (5) instances the
 functions of hypothesis (5marks). 5 a. Discuss the concept of research work plan (5marks)
